Maria was so sweet and readily accommodated our dietary restrictions. (We don’t eat pork or beef and my boyfriend is allergic to tomatoes and avocado) This class was the perfect introduction to life as a local. We were lucky enough to have a private class with Maria and if learning local cuisine is your thing, I highly recommend this activity! Maria truly made us feel welcome in her home. Thank you Maria!

My friend and I love taking local cooking classes on our trips because food is such a vital part of experiencing new cultures! Maria was darling, and welcomed us graciously into her home. She was very knowledgeable, and explained to us many interesting things about Costa Rican food. She was very good at making sure we each had something to work on, and even provided snacks like coconut water and fruit while we were cooking. You end up with so much delicious food, and she is so fun to talk with. A must do!

We went as two couples and had a fabulous evening at Maria's. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about Costa Rican food and we were the beneficiaries of that. We spent 5 hours there and the time flew by since were were busy talking, prepping, and cooking. And the food and drink was fantastic. We will be eager to see if we can find the ingredients in the US so we can attempt to duplicate, though that will be nearly impossible since we had such a delightful time with Maria. It was surely the highlight of our Costa Rica vacation!

Such a fun experience!! Maria came to our house to teach a cooking class for a bachelorette party and we had the best time . Not only was the food delicious but she and her helper Emilio were a blast :) we were all able to be hands on cooking and learned a lot about the local fruits and history in Costa Rica. She also makes awesome tortilla cozies to keep them warm definitely want to purchase one and would recommended this cooking class to anyone! Thankyou
