What To Expect

Tabacon Hot Springs

Right before the sun sets you will reach the wonderful and magical Tabacon Hot Springs Resort where you will relax and enjoy of the most natural thermal waters coming right from the volcano and the actual flowing river throughout its pools.

Take some time to explore the surroundings, visit as many pools as needed, let yourself go between the gorgeous and natural gardens and once you have taken enough... a premium buffet dinner awaits!

When you are ready to get back to the hotel just let the driver know and this is how the most fantastic day will end!

Arenal Hanging Bridges

After having time to have a nice breakfast at your hotel the day will start with a short drive towards the Arenal Hanging Bridges to have a nice walk and contemplate some of the wonderful animals that live in the rainforest,among others you will find monkeys, sloths, colorful birds, reptiles and the most wonderful views.

It is a really great walk in nature, a different way to understand and see what the forest is and offers from the higher grounds.

La Fortuna Waterfall

After the bridges and a short drive you will reach La Fortuna Waterfall, this is an opportunity that every one deserves! Being able to presence this natural beauty and bath in it is just the most amazing experience!

The hike is short, it takes 20 minutes to get down there but you must know it is through 500 stairs, is not a hard hike, kids and elder people people can do it, slowly at their own pace, taking the time to experience the great canyon you will be, the views, the sounds and reach down little by little to get an awesome reward, the waterfall!

Rain Forest Explorers

After the waterfall you will need to refill your energy bar, that is why you will be taken to meet the Rodriguez Family at their ranch located on the side of the river to taste the most delicious lunch!

Home cooked, traditional dishes, cup of fersh coffee, dessert and always in company of nature.

Make new tico friends, learn about culture and cooking traditions! Then, get ready to visit the imposing volcano park.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE! HUGE SHOUT OUT TO ALONSO, WHAT A GREAT GUY!So we actually booked directly through them after Tabacon was closed. We had the same tour but did Ecotermales instead of Tabacon (and did Tabacon by ourselves later). We ended up getting a private tour for the price of a shared! The bridges: we saw SO much wildlife and our guide worked with his scope to get us amazing pictures. The hike: amazing information, beautiful and fun hike! Waterfall: tons of fun, both exciting swimming against the waterfall and relaxing on the rocks further down. Can't recommend this enough, one of the top experiences we had in Costa Rica!

The guide Fabricio was really knowledgeable & friendly. I only recommend to eat breakfast before the tour because it’s a long day but lunch & dinner is provided :)

WOW… what an experience! My favorite activity was seeing the wildlife at Hanging Bridges - so cool seeing the animals and learning about them through our amazing tour guide. La Fortuna Waterfall would have been equally amazing if it didn’t rain (July is rain season). I will definitely come back during dry season so I can enjoy the swim at the falls. I highly recommend taking this tour with Rainforest Explorers. They are so professional and nice and made the experience so great. Thank you

Outstanding 4-1 tour - book it now!

We had the best day on our 4-1 tour with Canoa Aventura, and specifically our guide Abner!! (Shoutout to our driver, Antonio as well!). A few days before the tour, I realized I had booked the wrong one, and they were quick to respond and help me change it to the 4-1! We learned so much from our bilingual tour with Abner - about the volcano Arenal, Lago Arenal, the wildlife, plants and flowers. We loved the Volcano hike and visit to La Fortuna waterfall in the morning. The day’s events and logistics were smooth and the timing of the events was great. We had a fantastic pre-arranged lunch at pizzeria Cava - much needed heading into the rest of the activities! We continued onto the Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges tour - it was lightly raining and even storming a bit during our 2-hour walk through this beautiful park, but the views and flora / fauna were not to be missed, even in the rain. After this hike, we were dropped off at Baldi hot springs for 3 hours - a dinner included and access to their 25 pools. I think the hot springs you go to depends on the day, but we LOVED Baldi. We capped off a fabulous day with tropical drinks in a hot (104 degrees) hot spring swim-up bar. Then, Canoa Aventura picked us up and dropped us back at our hotel. Absolutely fantastic day!

If you have more time in La Fortuna, you could do the half day tour and save the hanging bridges or hot springs for another day. It was a LOT to do in one day, but for us it was great. If you’re short on time, go for the 4-1 tour!!
