Great walk in the Cloud Forest Reserve
WanderingGeeks, 28-08-2022
Monteverde was our first stop in Costa Rica -- we were eager to see the forest and animals and had a great experience with Rodiber. He was friendly, knowledgeable and went out of his way to include our young teen. We learned so much about the animals and plants, as well as the local geography (including the continental divide!). We saw sloths, lots of different birds, incuding 6 types of hummingbirds, coatis, funnel spiders, and more.
Great eye opening experience

Has deep knowledge of fauna and flora and likes to answer questions that he didn’t expect.

Was punctual , good in communication.
Is fluent in English!

But even more… great in spotting animals

Rodiber is a very knowledgeable guide. We learned so much about the wildlife and plants in the cloud forest and enjoyed a memorable morning in Monteverde. Viewing the beautiful quetzal flying in and out of the nest to feed the young was amazing.
Discovering the flora and fauna of Costa Rica

Costa Rica’s biodiversity is breathtaking. Every inch of space is utilized effectively by plants of various types adapted to living in the rainforest. Tree trunks bear hundreds of Bromeliads, orchids and ferns and fallen trees become substrate for new life. On our first day in Monteverde, we did a guided tour of the Monteverde cloud forest; our guide Rodiber Martinez lead us on a journey of discovery. He was very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the land, spoke excellent English and was very receptive to questions. We told him that our goal for the tour was to see toucans and catch glimpses of the quetzals in the cloud forest if possible. Nature is unpredictable and we felt very fortunate to see a nesting pair of quetzals in the Monteverde cloud forest as they took turns to fetch food for the chick. Rodiber captured great memories on our phones while we stood in awe at the quetzals. We were so thrilled, we asked Rodiber to guide us on a tour to Curicancha reserve the next day, where he sought out a bird call and lo and behold it was the colorful keel billed toucan we had been waiting to see. We saw many more birds and a family of Coatis resting high in the trees. All in all it was a fantastic tour, a must see for a nature lover!
Great experience and very helpful

My family and I took a guided tour with Rodibert this weekend and it exceeded our expectations. Our trip took almost 4 hours, in which he was very patient to make sure we could see everything the park had to offer and answer our inquiries. He was very helpful, he helped us to take videos and pictures of the different animals and plants. In his tour he also offers many interesting facts. I would definitely suggest hiring him during your next trip.
