We had great weather and it was really interesting to see the greenish lake inside the volcano.
Nice tour for half a day. Worth it!
Guess this is what you have to expect everywhere no matter which tour you take. We had a few more pick ups in other hotels until we started driving to the top.
Our guides were really friendly and
explained along the route a lot about Costa Rica and Irazú. (In Spanish and English)
So we drove a the way up to the highest point and had a short time there to have a look at the craters.
We were lucky to had a clear view.
After this we drove (5 minutes) to the visitor center and there you even have a better view to the three craters. We had around 30 minutes to explore the area. After this, we drove to Cartago to have a look at the old basilica (20 minutes).
After this the group was split into three. For a few of us the half day trip was over and a driver drove us back to the hotel. For others of the group the trip continued to the hot springs and others continued to be botanical garden.
I had a great trip.
