What To Expect

Cataratas Llanos de Cortes
Discovering Cortes Falls is like entering paradise. If you have time to visit only one waterfall in Costa Rica, make Cortes Waterfalls. Scramble down a short, steep trail to reach the spectacular 15 meters high, 15 meters wide waterfall, which you’ll hear before you see.

The falls drop into a tranquil pond which takes it source from the Potrero river, originating at Orosi Volcano.

With a white sandy beach that’s perfect for swimming and sunbathing, these falls are considered among the most spectacular in Costa Rica.

You have the option of relaxing to the sounds of nature or engage in a small walk that will lead you to a second natural pond. There, you can swim in more fresh waters of adventure yourself at jumping to the waters from a higher level.

You may choose to return to the fall or continue the venture through an amazing hiking trail where you can, at times, see monkeys playing in the lush forest.
